Day 55 - Read Acts 7

Sep 6, 2025

Stephen told the history of God’s people from the time of Abraham in Genesis 12 through the resurrection as documented in the gospels. Stephen confronted the religious leaders for their persecution of God’s prophets, and for their refusal to receive Jesus as Lord just as their fathers refused to trust God and resisted the Holy Spirit. Saul was present at the stoning of Stephen. Stephen saw the glory of God and Jesus standing at the right hand of God. They took Stephen outside of the city and stoned him to death. Stephen cried out, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit”, then fell to his knees and cried out, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them.” Even in his death, Stephen followed the example of Christ.
