Day 47 - Read John 13-14

Jesus washed the disciples’ feet in an act of humility and service. He used the opportunity to symbolize the uncleanness of the one who would betray Him (Judas). Jesus told His disciples He would be leaving and commanded them to love one another as He loved them. Others would know they were disciples by their love for one another. Jesus told Peter he would deny Jesus three times. Jesus promised to return for His followers to take them to a place He prepared for them. He explained He was the way, the truth, and the life…the only way to the Father. Followers of Christ would perform great works through the power of the Spirit. Jesus promised the Father would send the Spirit as a gift to His followers.
