Day 52 - Read Acts 1-2

Acts documents the start of the NT Church. Jesus ascended to be with the Father. The disciples chose Matthias to replace Judas as a witness of the works of Jesus. The Holy Spirit rested on the disciples, and the disciples became witnesses at home and around the world. They spoke by the power of the Holy Spirit, not from carnal minds. People from every nation heard them speak in their own languages. Peter preached a message of repentance. About three thousand souls were saved that day. Believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teachings, to fellowship, the breaking of bread, and the prayers. They had all things in common and gave as anyone had need. The Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.
