The high priest gave Saul permission to persecute Christians and to take them to Jerusalem to be jailed. Jesus appeared to Saul on the road to Damascus. Saul was blinded and taken to Damascus where God healed him through Ananias. Saul believed and was filled with the Holy Spirit and began preaching Jesus as the Son of God. The Jews sought to kill Saul, but he was let down in a basket through the city wall at night to escape. Hellenistic Jews (adapters to Greek culture) sought to kill Saul, but he escaped to Tarsus. Peter healed a man in Lydda who was paralyzed. He healed a woman named Tabitha (Dorcus) who was a disciple who fell sick and died. Many became believers because of Peter’s message and the miracles he performed.
