Day 138 - Read 1 Samuel 17

Sep 8, 2024

The Philistine army gathered against Israel, including a giant named Goliath. He stood eleven feet and four inches tall. Giants of this stature were also documented in non-religious writings. He dared the Israelites to choose a man to fight him. David, a man in his youth, was sent by his father to take food to his brothers who gathered with Israel to fight. David heard the giant’s words and could not believe Goliath defied God’s people. David took five rocks and a sling to fight the giant. David trusted God. He struck the giant in the forehead with one stone. The giant fell, and David took his sword and killed him. David took the giant’s head to Jerusalem and Israel conquered the Philistines.
