Day 136 - Read 1 Samuel 14
Sep 6, 2024
Jonathan, the son of Saul, went to the Philistines to test and conquer them. When Jonathan and his armor-bearer struck the Philistines, confusion took over and the men of Israel, including Saul and those Israelites who were among them, defeated the Philistines. Saul made a vow in haste forbidding anyone from eating before Saul’s enemies were conquered that day. The people of Israel were weakened because they did not eat. Jonathan ate without knowledge of the vow. The people of Israel responded in haste by eating in an unholy manner. The people defended Jonathan and he lived. Saul fought against his enemies throughout his days as king.
