Day 109 - Read Joshua 9-10

The kings in the promised land heard what occurred. They determined to join together to fight against Israel. The people of Gibeon tricked Israel into making a covenant with them. When Joshua learned of their deceit, he made the people of Gibeon servants of Israel. The five kings of the Amorites joined forces and attacked the people of Gibeon because they made peace with Israel. Israel defended Gibeon and God destroyed many of the Amorites with hailstones. Joshua asked, and God caused the sun and moon to set still to allow the Israelites to conquer the Amorites while it was still day. God allowed Israel to conquer many nations as He promised.
