Day 183 - Read 1 Chronicles 1-2

The books of Chronicles provide additional information of the history of God’s people. The first ten chapters of 1 Chronicles are genealogies. We will complete this section of chapters in the next five days, so stick with it and discipline yourself to read. These genealogies are important because they help us understand many of the promises God gave His people and the fulfillment of these promises. The first and second chapters of Chronicles covers the genealogies from Adam to David. As you read, you should recognize the men of the stories we have read from Genesis through 2 Kings. This genealogy should also help provide an understanding of the size and scope of God’s people.
