Day 255 - Read Psalm 49-51

The psalmist trusted in the Lord in his time of trouble. He declared the Lord would rescue him from the depths while His enemies died. Chapter fifty proclaimed God as creator of all things and the perfect judge over all. God found glory in the one who offered thanksgiving as sacrifice. Chapter fifty-one is a song of David to God. David sought mercy, forgiveness, and a clean heart after Nathan confronted him for sleeping with Bathsheba. He asked God to renew a right spirit in him. He wanted to experience the joy of salvation given to him by God. He described his spirit as broken, and his heart broken and contrite.
