Day 28 – Read Luke 10

Jesus appointed seventy-two (or seventy) followers to go ahead of Him. They were told not to go house to house asking for provisions but to accept what was offered. Those who reject God’s Word reject Him. The seventy-two followers learned that forgiveness from God was greater than any miracle they experienced. Jesus yielded Himself to the Father’s plan. He encompassed all the commandments in the command to love the Lord and love your neighbor. He explained the depths of love and provided a story of the good Samaritan as an example. Jesus explained that we, like Mary, should be preoccupied with God.
