Day 89 - Read 2 Corinthians 9-10

Paul was confident that the church would be generous toward others in need. He boasted in their generosity and was eager for their gift to be realized and for the church to be proven faithful. Generous giving according to Paul is not performed reluctantly or under compulsion. God loves a cheerful giver. Those who sow sparingly will reap sparingly. Those who are generous will be blessed by God. Paul boasted in the work of the Lord. He defended his ministry by reminding the church that he lived what he taught. He was confident in his calling. He did not boast in his work, but the work of God in the ministry of spreading the gospel of Jesus.
