Day 113 - Read Joshua 17-18

The descendants of Manasseh were given an allotment of the land. The daughters of Zelophehad were given a portion as commanded by God because he had no sons. The descendants of Joseph were numerous and did not have a sufficient size of land. Joseph led them to take the hill country by driving out the Canaanites. The Canaanites in the remaining land were allowed to stay but were put into forced labor. Seven tribes remained that had not received an allotment of land. Israel was gathered and Joshua challenged them to take the land already promised by God. Men were sent from each remaining tribe to mark the land and Joshua portioned the land. The allotment for Benjamin was detailed by its barriers.
