Day 143 - Read 1 Samuel 26-27

Sep 13, 2024

Saul pursued David again, but David was told of Saul’s plan. David entered the camp of Saul at night. Saul’s army was gathered to protect him, but they were in a deep sleep and did not wake. David took Saul’s sword and a jar of water that was at Saul’s head while he slept. David called from a distance and expressed his humility toward God and toward Saul. Saul repented and blessed David and they separated. David fled to Gath, among the Philistines. Saul no longer sought him. David asked Achish, the king of Gath, to give him a place to live. Achish gave Ziklag to David. David continued to conquer his enemies, destroying the people. Achish trusted David.
