Day 192 - Read 1 Chronicles 19-20

The king of the Ammonites died, and his son reigned in his place. David sent men to console the new king, but the king was convinced David was planning an attack against him. He dishonored the men and sent them away. The Ammonites and the Syrians went to battle Israel and were defeated. David’s army killed more than 40,000 men. The Syrians were not willing to help the Ammonites anymore. Joab, the leader of David’s army overthrew Rabbah. He took the crown of their king, and it was placed on David’s head. The people were made to serve Israel. Israel went to war again against the Philistines, and David and his servants struck them down.
