Day 146 - Read 2 Samuel 1-2

An Amalekite went to David and told him Saul and Jonathan were dead. He said Saul asked him to kill him because he was in anguish and would not live. David had the Amalekite killed because he killed the Lord’s anointed. David lamented over Saul and Jonathan. God told David to go up to Hebron, and David was anointed king over the house of Judah. Abner, the commander of Saul’s army, made Ishbosheth king over Israel. There was a battle between twelve of Abner’s men against twelve of David’s men. This battle led to a greater battle that resulted to the death of 19 of David’s men, and 360 of Abner’s men.
