Day 353 - Read Jeremiah 36-37

The Lord told Jeremiah to write everything the Lord told him on a scroll so Israel and Judah might see the warnings of the Lord and turn from their evil ways. Jeremiah sent Baruch to read the scroll in the house of the Lord. When the words were read to Jehoiakim, the king of Judah, he burned the scroll. The Lord told Jeremiah to write the words again. The Lord condemned the king and warned He would punish the king and his people for their deeds. Zedekiah sent word to Jeremiah to pray. The Lord told Jeremiah that Judah would be overtaken by the Chaldeans. Jeremiah was jailed under the false accusation that he attempted to desert Judah.
