Day 145 - Read 1 Samuel 30-31

The Amalekites raided Ziklag and took the women and all who were captive while David was away. David sought God to see if he should go after the Amalekites. God told David to pursue them. David and his men came upon an Egyptian man who was a servant to the Amalekites. The Egyptian took David to the Amalekites who were celebrating their victory. David struck them and took all their belongings, their wives and children and returned to his land. David insisted the possessions be shared with every man, even those who did not fight. The Philistines conquered Saul and his army at Mount Gilboa. Saul fell on his sword, and his sons were killed.
