Day 96 - Deuteronomy 17-18

Jul 28, 2024

Worship of other Gods was forbidden. Anyone found guilty of worshipping other gods would be stoned to death. Legal cases not resolved in the local town would be taken to the priests for a verdict. Israel would be granted a king based on their desire for one, and God would choose that king. The king was to be obedient to God’s Law. The Levitical priests (the tribe of Levi) would serve and be given a portion of the offerings from the tribes of Israel. Israel was warned against participating in the mystical practices of other nations. Their worship was to be pure and undefiled. Moses prophesied about the coming of Christ and warned Israel of false prophets who would attempt to turn them from God.
