Day 208 - Read 2 Chronicles 32-33
The king of Assyria invaded Judah. Hezekiah prepared the people and reminded them that the Lord was on their side. The king of Assyria sent letters questioning the Lord’s ability to help Judah conquer Assyria. Hezekiah and Isaiah prayed, and the Lord rescued Jerusalem from Assyria. The sons of the king of Assyria struck him down. Hezekiah prospered until he died, then his son Manasseh reigned in his place. He began to reign when he was twelve years old and reigned for fifty-five years. He did evil in the sight of the Lord and worshiped other gods. He was humbled after being captured by Assyria. God showed him grace and returned him to Jerusalem. Manasseh died and his son Amon reigned in his place. Amon did evil and did not humble himself before the Lord. His servants killed him, and his son Josiah reigned in his place.
