Day 204 - Read 2 Chronicles 22-24

Jehoram’s youngest son Ahazia reigned in his place. Jehu captured and killed Ahazia. Athaliah, Ahaziah’s mother reigned in his place. Joash, one of Ahazia’s sons was hidden in the house of the Lord. He was anointed king by Jehoiada the priest and the assembly, and Athaliah was executed. The people destroyed the house of Baal and killed the priest of Baal. Joash was seven when he began to reign. He reigned forty years. He decided to restore the house of the Lord. Jehoiada died at the age of 130. Joash then turned from God. He was warned by Zechariah, Jehoaida’s son, but he would not listen. Zechariah was stoned to death. Joash was wounded by the Syrians, then killed by his own men. Amaziah his son reigned in his place.
