Day 142 - Read 1 Samuel 24-25

Saul continued to pursue David. David had the opportunity to kill Saul while he was relieving himself in a cave. David cut a piece of Saul’s robe but did not kill him. David presented himself to Saul after he left the cave. David committed to Saul that he would not harm him, his offspring, or his name. Samuel died and was mourned by Israel. David sent his men to a man named Nabal to request provisions. Nabal refused to provide for David and his men. David prepared his men to kill Nabal and all that he owned. Nabal’s wife, Abigail, prepared provisions for David and his men and took it to them. Nabal was stunned by his wife’s actions and became like a stone and died ten days later. David sent for Abigail and made her his wife.
