Day 203 - Read 2 Chronicles 19-21
Jehoshaphat returned to Jerusalem. He assigned judges in each city and instructed the judges to be fair and to fear the Lord. Judah’s enemies prepared to battle them. Jehoshaphat sought God and was told he would be successful. The singers sang praise to the Lord and their enemies turned on each other and destroyed one another. Jehoshaphat reigned for twenty-five years. He joined Ahaziah, king of Israel, who acted wickedly. Their endeavors failed as a result. Jehoshaphat died and Jehoram his son reigned in his place. Jehoram killed all of his brothers. He did evil in the sight of God. God punished him with a disease. He reigned for eight years, then his bowels came out. He died with no one’s regret and was not buried in the tombs of the kings.
