Day 175 - Read 2 Kings 11-12

Athaliah, the mother of Ahaziah, reigned over Judah for 6 years. Jehoash was anointed king at the age of seven, in the seventh year of Jehu. Athaliah was put to death with the sword, the house of Baal was destroyed, and the priest of Baal was killed. Jehoash reigned forty years, and he did what was right in the eyes of the Lord. However, by the twenty-third year of his reign, the priest had made no repairs on the house of the Lord. All the money given from that time was given to repair the house of the Lord. The guilt offerings and sin offerings still belonged to the priests. Jehoash sent the sacred gifts and the gold that was in the treasuries to Hazael king of Syria to make peace with him.
