Have you ever watched a sporting event on TV? Each team has its own official announcers who talk about all kinds of things during the game, but when there’s a fantastic play on the field, you definitely can’t miss it by the way they communicate. Excitement fills their voices, and the volume goes way up!

On the night Jesus was born, God shared the outstanding news with a group of shepherds by sending one of His angels with a “Behold!” message. The sky was dark, and everything was quiet except for the sounds of the sheep when suddenly the angel appeared with the brightness of God’s glory surrounding him. This was a birth announcement unlike any that had been or ever will be. It was exciting, important, and joyful news that wasn’t just for a few people but for everyone, including you! Jesus came to make a way for all people who believe in Him to have their sins forgiven and to become part of God’s family forever!

Why do you think God sent an angel to announce Jesus’ birth?
