At night, your brain creates stories you see in your mind called dreams. But did you know God can communicate through dreams? The Bible talks about people like Jacob, Solomon, and Daniel who heard from God in their dreams. Today, God speaks to us through the Bible, but He could still do it through a dream if He wanted.


Our verses for today have another angel coming with a “behold” message! Joseph had decided to divorce Mary, but he didn’t know that God had something different in mind. God sent an angel in a dream to tell Joseph not to go through with divorcing Mary. The angel told him that Mary’s baby was created miraculously by the Holy Spirit, and God wanted him to go ahead and marry her. It was all part of God’s plan to send Jesus to our world as the promised Savior, and He wanted Joseph to follow His instructions.

What does it mean that Jesus would save people from their sins?

Use posterboard/construction paper and decorating supplies to create megaphones. When God says something, He wants us to listen. Another way to say “behold” is “listen up!” Use the megaphones to share with each other what you’ve learned so far about God and about Jesus’ birth.
